About the Arab Franchise Association

The Arab Franchise Association was established by the official notification number 568 \a.d. dated April 14, 2010 issued by the Minister of Interior and Municipalities of Lebanon. On the 11th May 2010 the founding members held their first meeting and elections were held, Dr. Khaled A. Taki was elected President, Mr. Daniel Karam Vice President, Attorney Manal Majed secretary, Treasurer Attorney Antoine Hachem Treasurer, Accountant Mr. Fadi Sawaya Accountant, Mr. Armen Simonian Board member and Miss Suzan Jemayel Board member. The Arab Franchise Association represents the Arab Franchisors, Arab franchisees and franchise service providers in the Arab World which today stretches from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Arabian Sea in the east, and from the Mediterranean Sea in the north to the Horn of Africa and the Indian Ocean in the southeast. It consists of 25 countries and territories with a combined population of is 338.4 million people (according to Al Hayat Newspaper dated 21st April 2009) with almost half of them under the age of 25, and with a very strong habit of spending, although not all are wealthy, there is an emergent middle class all across the Arab world. Since the early 1990 the franchise sector has been growing in the Arab world at the very impressive rate, and many foreign franchisors have granted franchisees the right to operate branches clearly seen by the foreign brand names. However, there is a large number of ARAB FRANCHISORS all of which have become active and granted franchisees as well, most active can be found in food and beverage sector and other sectors as well. Thus the Arab Franchise Association intends on having representation in each Arab country though prominent Franchisors and or franchisees. The Arab Franchise Association strongly believes that in the next 10 years the number of home grown Arab franchisors will increase exponentially and so will the franchisees across the Arab world giving way to an active massive economic franchise sector, and the need to provide Franchise knowledge and information about the Arab Franchise sector to the new generation of young Arab men and women knowledge, expertise and training programs both theoretical and practical as well as the improvement of business relations between the Arab franchisors and franchisees to increase the level of operation and chances to success, are amongst its main goals and objectives. The Arab Franchise Association will establish strategic partners ion all Arab countries and work closely to improve the Arab Franchise sector. All inquiries regarding how to become an Arab Franchise Association strategic partner should be sent to info@arabfranchiseassociation.com or arabfranchiseassocciation@gmail.com
